spoon oil pan vs mugen oil pan

can any one shed light on this
since spoon has a different one for b16 and b18, but mugen one has a universal b series one. i understand that oem b16 and b18 is different as b18 holds more oil.

does that mean that holding more oil doesnt make a difference since mugen's one is for both b16 and b18. i think if u install a b18 pan on a b16, you hold mroe oil - which doesnt really do anything, and u cant check ur oil levels accurately anymore

Where the heck did you hear that it holds more oil?

Mugen is a better design BTW.

so.... are they sposed to be the same or what

i know mugen design is better, i was gonna make my own with a plate, but i was wondering if it makes a difference if i base it on a stock sump or dc2/r sump

IMO.... it makes no difference if you base it on a 16a or 18c sump.

"People around".... I would like you to chime in and tell us about this extra volume.

the oil sumps are more or less exactly the same displacement.
The only difference between teh B18c7/c is the windage/baffle plate inside.

Well, the purpose of all oil sumps are the same, but under certain driving conditions, mostly track work, the design can help prevent engine damage.
