yeah probably, give it a try.
Let us know if the Xcarlink works
ARGH! Nah man that didnt work! I just pulled the panel apart again and tried it without the CDs
This time when I press the CD button it just stays on radio!
Its not recognizing it at all! maybe a faulty unit?
Hmm, weird. I dont ever listen to CD's and i can press the CD/AUX button and it will switch to CD and let me listen to my iPod.
Maybe send the unit back incase it might be faulty?
I was using a 2GB stick, i also tried playing songs from my phone into the 3.5mm headjack and still nothing, its just not being picked up at all
Im guessing its a faulty unit, spoke to the seller and he said to send it back.
Its just a hassle!
It was a faulty unit!
Ended up buying another one from sydney installers and I just installed it after work, it worked great! Also fitted the bluetooth kit without any dramas..
The other faulty unit will be going back overseas for a refund.
Thanks for the help guys
Got my xcarlink from sydney installers last week, installed the box inside the compartment under the head unit. Routed the iPod cable to come out of the ashtray compartment so looks very tidy, only had to drill two small holes for cables, one in each compartment. Xcarlink works well but at first I couldn't change songs from my iPhone as it was stuck in "accessory connected mode". Once I changed tracks using a third party music app I can now change songs using the standard music app and car controls still work. I didn't see any mention of this in the xcarlink manual if anyone else is wondering how to get out of "accessory connected" mode.
