Thread: turbo manifold

    does anyone know of anyone who does turbo manifolds for the d16a8, in a gen II crx. i'd search locally but i've heard too many bad stories. our performance guys aint too good around here. cheers

    a greddy manifold isnt the best design, but its pretty compact! u gotta consider internal/external wastegate? also downpipe size n stuff. im sure plenty of guys in the us run HF mani's on crx's without problems. if u want, meansure the room u got betweeen the block and radiator, and i'll compare with my setup.

    I usually use the HKS manifold when using a small T25~T28 Garrett style turbocharger...
    You'd be looking at approx $800~$900 for one of these...
    Fitment is better than AVO as turbo is further from AC compressor.

    nice. i've got a t28 already to jam in there. i've noticed there isnt much room either so will i have to remove the a/c?? where could i get the hks 1 from. i emailed them but they never got back to me

    BD4's are the HKS dealers...
    Try them 1st... (02) 98793322

    If you get stuck, send me an email & I'll get one for you.
    You won't need to remove the AC if you've got a good fabricator to make the dump pipe... Both Dyno Dave & myself have done this before with this sort of set-up and I'm sure a few others have too.

    As a side note,
    Re AVO manifold, depending on which T28 you've got, there is an AVO cast steel dump that will clear the AC compressor.

    Having made loads of manifold before,
    I can tell you a $800 fabricated one is probably not going to be better than a $800 cast HKS item...
    In fact, I go so far as to say, it's probable the fabricated one will be nothing more than ugly junk...
    You get what you pay for...

    how much do you think a good custom one would be? are there any good ones out there to fit a t28 to a b16a in a del sol? if so how much?
