    40,000 kms service Civic

    hi all

i got a 2005 Honda Civic Sedan GLI Auto (which ive only done 25,000 kms)

In December i am coming up to my 40k service i would like to know

how much is this going to cost $$$

and what things they service, as i believe the 40k and every 40k is a major service

    thanks!

    oil + filter
    air filter
    tappets
    auto trans service

should be around $485 using genuine parts, but it will depend on their labour rate and if any extras are required

because thats what it says in the owners manual

it says which ever comes first i.e the service interval 6 months or the Kms (10k, 20k, 30l etc)

    didnt realise about the kms.....

tappets wont need to be done, trans is still an option if u haven't had the ATF replaced previously, a clean of the air filter would most likely get it thru to the next service.

you're also approaching a brake fluid change, depending on the build date of the car

ok got my service done today at Austral Honda at Newstead, $535 !!!! for a low kilometre service, car has 25k on it,

the manual mght say 6 months or 10kilometres etc

but it doesnt mean you have to do it, ive always followed the kilometres and ignored the time.

unless you have heaps of $$$$ to throw away

    I recommend just follow kilometres.

yea your right, i might just stick with the kilometres next time!!! ive done 25,500 so im going to wait till i hit 40,000kms and then get it serviced again ! should be 12 months away !

ok no dont wait till 40000 then youve waited too long

hondas are servied every ten, cop it sweet. do the next service at 30, then continue with 10 intervals
