i dont see how they can, considering a semi slick tyre is designed for track/circuit use so it would take much more than a burn out to get them up to heat. Well thats what i thought anyways on those runs i did. Unless we are talking about those BF Goodrich drag semis which are real soft and can get warmed up easily.

compared to any normal street tyre...actual "circuit" semi slicks are apparently worse for straight line dragging. Anyway tyres do make a big effort in putting the power down and reducing those 60ft and ET.

alot softer compound and more tread on the ground = alot more grip than "road tyres" could ever have.
If you hear anyone saying they did X time , make sure you ask if on road tyres or on semi slicks or slicks because its quite a difference

    Super stiff sidewalls though...

I remember running on fresh semis and getting the same 60' time as i did on my fresh streeties.
    And so it begins...

Run DOT Drag Radial if you wanna race it with semi slicks , try not to use circuit semi slicks
