Honda Civic Type R - Audio question

    Hi guys !!

I am new to OZHONDA. This is a great website found a lot of usefull info.

I had a 1998 Honda Civic VTi Coupe (Jap version) sold it recently and bought myself the new 2007 Honda Civic Type R (Milano Red). If you have any questions about the car let me know, will try to answer them asap.

Soon, I will be posting my experience so far (bought it on the 13 November 2007) and a review about the CTR. so far i am loving it !!!!!!!

OK THE QUESTION I HAVE IF ANYONE CAN HELP

What audio system (including the speakers) is in the new CTR. Cant find the answer anywhere. I am looking to install an additional sub-woofer (active) but wanted to know whats the best match and how I can do this....any feedback, suggestions or comments will be appericiated. I dont want to open or fiddle around with the system since cant risk voiding the warranty...please help !

    Thanks

    Kash

By adding the sub you will void the warranty, since you will be splitting the rca output. The point of changing the speakers are to have a better sound
quality since the OEM one is not good. If you dont want to fiddle around with your car than might as well keep it stock.

do you have any budget on the sub?

our own chris_type_r put on a mono amplifier with a rockford p3 sub

i myself have a soundstream 4ch amp powering focal v2 front split and a rockford fosgate p3 sub. I only have a 400watt amp but the soundstream is loud enough for me. Both of us made the box so that we can still open the spare wheel compartment

Look at the magnet size difference with below.

this is the picture for the original front speaker

Thanks for the pics and the info. It helped. But I am still not to sure about voiding my warranty. Lets see...what I decide.

Hey another question. My CTR has done 788K and its due for its 1000K servicing this Friday. I noticed a problem today and wanted to know what it is? When I press the clutch I feel a small tick on the foot and hear a click sound half way down when pressing the clutch??? Its not loud but when I press the clutch I can feel it which is soo annoying.

Can you help answer this question dont know what the dealer will say but wanted to go prepared. I should be covered under warranty if something is wrong....please help if you can.

    Thanks

As just stated in another thread, you wont void the whole cars warranty as Honda has an obligation to prove your mod caused the fault. In summary they can't say that putting a sub in caused a clutch fault, but they could say that a rattling door trim isnt their problem if you put after market speakers in the door.
