    Hi all,

Thinking 17" with 205/45 or 205/40. Some1 said don't go 215 cos will scrach the guards. then this ther guy has 205/40 and he says they scratch his guards also... so how r u guys finding ur rubber? scratching guards? no? negative camber to fix it?

there r heaps of civics with 17's...i wonder what i should get then...

Yes this is a good setup.

Anythin wider than this and if you lower it you will get guard rubbing.

there is no problem with 17" rims with 205/40's at all, on stock springs. you start having problems when you lower the car...

im on 17' with 205/40's and lowered 2"... they scrub once in a while.. nothing major but....

18" with 215/35... not very practical, but it looks nice... i dont really drive the car hard, its not much of a top end performer anyway...

my friend's have 18 with 215/35 with rolled guards and have no problems at all. so i really think 17' 205 will be ok.

i should get 17"x7 +43 with 205/40s...what abt 215/45? what if i get springs that have a 2 finger gap ( i don't know how many inches that is) between the tyres and the guards?

sheesh...this is harder than i thought!

i have the same problem as Taxi-R.
i have a EK1 sedan and i'm looking at upgrading to 17"x7 G-Max super lightweight rims with 205/40 tyres, but i'm not to sure.
i currently have 205/45-16 on the car, and tossing up between change the tyres and rims to the G-Max lightweights or keeping the 16's.

    what did u do Taxi-R?

Just FYI, I have 17x7 offset +35 with 215/40/r17 and tyres is just tucked under guards, it scrubs hard when I turn and especially when there's 2 or more ppl lol.

I'm aiming to change to 205/40, hope that dramatically reduces, if not eliminates scrubbing.
