Honda Accord Euro Luxury 2006 CL9 - Advice please for Bluetooth and IPOD/IPHONE

    Hi guys,

Have purchased a Honda Accord Euro 2006 Luxury and really enjoying it, the car is fantastic.

I have a standard stereo (ie. no Sat Nav) and was wondering if anyone could recommend a product that would enable me to connect Bluetooth and use an IPOD/IPHONE to play music.

Any advice would be appreciated and if this is something that I could do myself

    Cheers,

    The Dec

I have the Grom kit on mine. Works great.
And if you want to install it yourself, check the youtube guide here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBZo1kxRnjM
    Purchased from Cushie Audio.

I installed one kit from eBay yesterday in my 2007 CL9 that I bought last week. Works great, bluetooth audio quality has good bass and punch, just that there is a slight hiss when you're not playing anything through the cd aux menu. The bass is clean and makes my centre rear view mirror vibrate with each deep line when turned up a bit.

The unit cost $106 shipped from Bayswater. The brand/seller is LaPower http://www.ebay.com.au/ulk/itm/111573335772. It's really easy to install too. Just watch YouTube for gtacarkits video https://youtu.be/UBVzzhfrqFQ for accord 2003-7 for installation.

I bought a USB extension cable on ebay and plugged it into the bluetooth kit, and put the bluetooth kit behind the centre console pocket like in the youtube installation vid. The USB extension cable and 3.5mm line in cables are in the centre console pocket going through the drilled hole. Otherwise you could run the wires to the passenger glove box. If you don't plan on using Aux or USB cables, then you can avoid the wires/drilling bit and just use the bluetooth.

Frankly I think the USB on the kit is underpowered, so it doesnt charge as quickly as my car charger that I have from my cigarette lighter.

The kit from ebay works just like in the youtube vid. I use the steering wheel buttons to flip through songs on Pandora, and when there are incoming calls, just press Skip >> button to answer. You do have to connect & mount the mic though, otherwise your caller won't hear you at all on their side.

Hey mate were you able to purchase a BT kit for your car?
I've got a 07 CL9 and was looking at the GROM kits,

NOT SURE ABOUT POSTAGE/SHIPPING, I'M ASSUMING EXTRA $50AUD+/-

However I've come across an Australian site that sells GROM kits:

Hey man. I've got some queries about all the accessories. I basically want to hook up my iphone 6s to listen to music, to have Bluetooth, and a usb to charge it.
    1) Honda 30pin iPod & iPhone Cable - what is this for ? do I need it?
    2) Bluetooth Dongle & Handsfree Microphone (BTD) - I understand I need this to talk handsfree
    3) Honda USB Cable - what is this for?
    4) Honda Auxiliary Cable - do I need this to listen to music?

    Thanks for your help.

Hey!! Sorry i havent logged on in ages. I sure have hooked up the grom bt3. Its only bluetooth coz i hate having wires/cables hanging out onto the phone, bluetooth ensures i can listen to my music handsfree and answer calls handsfree. The audio quality of my music from my phone is absolutely great!! Maybe its because my Galacy S6 has a few equalizer settings as well as the CL9's basic equalizer settings. I highly recommend it.

I bought mine from cushieaudio.. heres the link:
    http://www.cushieaudio.com.au/honda-bt3.html

    This is what you'll need...

    - Honda BT3 Interface Box
*Acura, Honda Interface Box (BT3-HON1) +$194.95

    -Honda Data Cable
    *Data Cable (HON1M) +$21.95

The Data cable connects to below your standard head unit on one end and other ends pins into the BT3 device.
U dont need the ipod/iphone cable or an AUX cable because you'll be listening to music via your bluetooth.
Oh and i just sticky taped the Microphone to the sterring column just beneath the wiper trigger.

It was sooooo easy to install. Theres clips on YouTube you can watch to help. On these videos they recommended in car trim panel tools to detach your panel etc.. but ive installed systems before so i guess with ny experience i was able to use just a flat head screw driver and piece of thin cloth (to prevent scratches/marks) for removing the panels/trims without leaving any marks!!!!

    Sorry for the long reply.

Awesome advice. Thank you for your response. Their website is not so user friendly. Am so going to get it now so I can use my spotify.
Just a last question. Does your ciggie output still work after installing the grom device?

Hell yeh it does!! When u remove the trims and compartments including the ashtray/ciggy lighter etc to get to your standard unit, u put it all back bolts/ashtray light/ wires etc.

Ps: i chose the FASTWAY COURIER delivery service. My Grom unit arrived the following morning.. they're super quick!!

Have fun mate all the best
