Engine Cooling & Radiator Problem – Any ideas??

Hey Guys

My radiator slowly fill’s up the overflow bottle and doesn’t suck it back in like it should..

I upgraded to 50mm aluminum radiator as I thought my stock one was not holding up but the new one also has the same problem so I would guess its something ells?

Any ideas?

ill check radiator cap first, replace that. If not then looks like your up for a new headgasket

Hey Jimmy

New radiator cap came with the new radiator, some problem...

No oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil

Can it still be the head gasket?

did u get a leak-down test , like i suggested ages ago lol ? IT might give you a better indication than asking anyone here.

I don't think that's the problem that's why I asked as we did the comp test and so on...
I've asked my Mech and he doesn't do em

Who do you recommend?

you need someone with an air compressor and the proper attachment to go into your spark-plug holes ~ im sure some of the bigger more reputable places have got it. Gave Robert or peter @ hannys a call yet ? Or anyone here know of a place in syd with the proper leakdown kit ?

Man I asked Rob and he keeps telling me its not the head lol

Might get a better response out of Peter..

dunno man.Your engine is rebuilt to stock spec and now has a turbo hanging off it - just get all the tests done and take it from there

u can try running it with out a thermostat,wat does the temp gauge show when it overfill??..

Temps never change and the fan kicks in when needed.

Maybe the hose to the radiator needs changing

wat thermostat u got?? try taking the thermo out and drive it see if it bubbles out,the hose wont make much of a difference in cooling..or u can try bypassing the fan and make it stay on ..... see if that helps

OEM thermostat

I died only 4 months ago so its brand new

It's not pushing it out anywhere near as fast with the new radiator so maybe I just need a new low temp one?
