    Civic Type R Modulo concept

Honda is set to unveil a street legal, track ready version of the Civic Type R sedan (JDM) at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon in January.

Finished in Honda's hero colour of Championship White, the Civic Type R Modulo features a host of exterior upgrades including a new front apron and grille, side-skirts, redesigned headlight/taillight unit, duck-lip rear wing and 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 225/35 R19 rubber.

love the Porsche RS-like straps for the door handles and the clever mounting for the harnesses - fixed back fronts with usable rear seats too.

Stickers and tail lights looks a bit dodgy though!

I'm a bit baffled about why Honda would produce these "concepts" unless there is an intention to offer an even more hardcore FD2R for the customers already lucky enough to be able to get their hands on the standard car.

If it were just an image enhancing exercise then I'd prefer for them to direct their resources in to providing the FD2R to world markets instead of teasing us with things we can't get and hope that the halo effect will somehow rub off on the lesser cars they offer outside of Japan!!!.
