Alarm for Civic VTI. Recommendations/Advice? Original Honda or aftermarket?

    Hey guys

Just purchased a Civic MY08 VTI, and picking it up next month.

What alarms have you guys installed on your civic? The one recommended by Honda or aftermarket?

The dealer said I have the option of installing a Honda alarm for $795 with a programming coded onto the key. I think it was a 3 point alarm system covered by 1 yrs manufacturer wty.

I was planning installing a Mongoose system?

    Your opinions/advice.

Doing a bit of research and experience with previous alarms

I'll prob opt for a Mongoose M80MA at Platinum PPI or lifestyle store

definately go aftermarket. from my dealer, a honda alarm costs $795 and is cat 4 including sound/motion/break/tilt sensors. you can get a mongoose system that does all that and even will sms you if there is a breach for under $500 installed

yeah, i got quoted for that price ($795)by the customer relations person after i signed the contract and urged me to get the alarm

I got contacted today and he offered a price of $590 plus installation for that system.

    What do you think?

He kept on bragging that it was in inbuilt and not worth the trouble to get it installed elsewhere.
