    can you pull it down?
    take out the astray and cig lighter and all that area

    taking the plastics around the head unit are a bitch without scratching them... i had to use feeler gauges just to take the rear deminister and hazard light buttons out...

    im sure you can do it without taking the dash apart.
    have you tried taking out the centre console?
    i've done head units in these things before, and overall, it was quite easy, with plenty of wire length, if you take off the centre console.

    it looks like the person whom installed the headunit must of taken out the console the soldered wires are right back in the dash with no slack,

    i need to know whats holding in the one piece console inbuilt in the dash

    that could be a possibility, but even at that really, still should have some slack, if your gonna run a system, just get new wires from the ignition switch, and run it to the headunit spot, easier than taking out the dash

    i highly doubt the previous owner took out the dash to put the deck in

    take out the centre console and you should be able to run the wires down and work on it

    hope this helps (taken out of the manual) ;

    basically its 3 screws from the bottom cage and two more behind the switches.. then you can try pushing the whole console from inside. btw, you'll need to remove the lower center console first tho..

    1. take off the glove box,
    2. remove the lower panel of your driver's side
    3. remove the 2 screws on each side
    4. remove ash tray
    5. unscrew 3 screws 1 inside the ashtray 2 fromthe console.
    pull out...

    big job buddy.
