    Repairing woofer surrounds?

I go 8" woofers in a home stereo and the surrounds have gotten ruined from weather etc.
The woofers are really good and I don't want to just swap them. I have bought from Jaycar the woofer surround kit with glue etc.
Just wondering are there any tips in repairing it? ie, how exactly to do it

you've gone the hard way about it. new woofers would be easier. replacing the surround won't be as good as it was originally. only advice is go slow.
Is this the end of my car modding days? Buying a house says so...

from doing my old sub i just pealed off the old surround, carefully scraped off as much of the old glue with a razor blade, applied glue and sticked new surround.

Yup... dont over do with the glue or it will be squished all over the cone when you press the surround back it.

However, the sound of the speaker will be different due to stiffer surround, so it might not be worthwhile.... It depends on your sonic requirement.
