4th Gen Prelude - Help needed with installing speakers!

First thread on ozhonda. I drive a toyota so im on supraforums more.

My friend drives a vtir honda prelude 4th generation. For his bday I had purchased him some alpine 6 x 9's type S and alpine type R splits. Now we've come across some problems.

We are planning on putting hte 6 x 9's at the back and the splits at the front.

The 6 x 9's do not fit in the parcel shelf because the metal bars that go across for the boot lid get in the way of the speakers.

Has anyone installed 6 x 9's in a 4th gen and where abouts have you mounted them.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

return them and swap/buy what fits...

thought you might of looked at how big the speakers were before you bought them?
