i tried K100 with my K20A and the difference was huge. that was untuned as well.. i use a mugen N1 ecu and its better than the K100 IMO.

But a tuned K-pro and im pretty sure you have one of the best upgrades for a K-series motor you can buy

WTF What are you talking about.? Who the hell buys a K100/Pro and runs it untuned, unless it has been flashed with some kind of base program.

The mugen N1 is specifically tuned to mugen products. K100/Pro units are designed to be used to tune and optimise what modification you have! Obviously untuned would be next to useless! IMO

Cost wise, Im sure that a K100 tuned costs less than the price of a N1 and the K100/PRO are completely tunable!

K100 and PRO are the same product, except that the PRO has an external USB port and software for user to use and muckaround with. Not recommended if you dont know what you are doing! The 100 is only tunable by dealer.

Correct me if I am wrong!

Oh yes, to the original question, theres usually a good fat increase in power in the mid range bringing the K20 to life.

i didnt buy it. I ran it untuned for my exact setup but it had been tuned for one quite similar. should have specified that but does that make sense now?

as for the price. cost of ecu plus tuning and there isnt much in it between the two. i went with the mugen as i was offered it at a very reasonable price.

I ran kpro with my K setup. Must be the easiet ecu I've played around with. Even if you don't get a tuner to fine tune it asap then you have base maps to run which are included in the program. I ran a base map for a K20 with intake headers and exhaust and it was pretty awesome. You notice the difference straight away and even a bigger difference when you get it tuned properly.

$400 difference in price between k100 and k-pro, same features minus the fact the k-pro has USB the k100 doesn’t.

    Prices are here

It all comes down to what you want to do with your car!

If you are modding it constantly and changing things the KPRO would be the go! and ofcourse, mucking around with the tune yourself!

Otherwise if you want a ECU to tune with what you have and dont care about playing with the ECU, then the K100 is all you need.

IMO, if you are paying someone to tune your car on the dyno, you should be mucking around with the tune yourself. Unless you race or track your car and are using the datalogging features.

Sum it up.......if you wanna set and forget, save your money and get K100.

If you want to playing around with the tune get the KPRO!

Thats right. In the long run, KPRO might actually save you time and money if you ever run into any problems. It's alot more convenient to have if you want to do some minor or major changes urself instead of calling in a pro which costs $$$
