    What engine have i got???

    hey guys just about to buy a 'type r' or so i think...
    engine number is B18C190xxxx ... just wondering is the engine a legit JDM type R or is it a USDM one as some sites suggest...
    its a late model 96'

    its kinda confusing when b18c is a jdm type r engine and b18c1 isnt (usdm teg gsr)
    and all the details following are numerals...

    neway runs smooth and the engine howls like crazy... guess thats good enough for me... but if anyone can clarify it'd be nice

    23k before stampduty insurance etc all up around 25k

    well the jdm ITR engine is called a B18c.... the SIR integra engine is called B18c.
    so its kind of hard to tell from its number.

    but if you check behind the dizzy somewhere, there should be some green paint.
    i know all JDM type r engines have it. not sure about ausdm....

    aussie or USA B18C's have numbers after tehm

    ie the AUSDM VtiR is a B18C2 and hte Type R is a B18C7

    teh USDM type R is B18C5

    so if yours is a B18C then it is JDM...

    yeah looks legit JDM but like i said... other sites which decode the engine number say that the US GSI ones begin with B18C1...
    so its hard to tell

    yeah, and JDM is 'B18C'

    if there is no number after the C then it is JDM...

    Since you said it was B18C190xxxx doesn't that mean that it's a not JDM since there is a number after the B18C????
