    D series vs b18cr compared

Apart from the very obvious, is there much difference between the two motors in regards to stripping them and putting them together?

its a serious question, and i haven't torn down Honda engines, thats why i'm asking

EDIT: i was asking more so about the block, not really concerned about the head...

You guys are fcukheads, you should read what he is actually asking..... In regards to assembly the heads would be quite different since B series has the whole VTEC system and plus the DOHC setup. However, the bottom ends would be pretty much the same AFAIK with only a few minor differences.

My 1st thread was created in response to all the how much and what should i do threads

yes, that is obvious, what you're pointing out, but thats not what my question was aimed at

learning how to strip down a motor and put it together again.
i've done heads b4, so i'm not concerned about that side of thinfs.
more concerned about the bottom ends, are they similar?
if i strip the D, would it be the same as stripping the B18cr?

D series and B series - almost exactly the same bottom end.

Only difference is the head with the UPPER parts of the head with DOHC VTEC.

bottom end of b series is far more superior than d series the crankshaft, oil pump, water pump, pistons, conrods etc .... all have been upgraded to be reliable and to be able handle revs up to 9000rpm

    not relevant to this thread.
His question is about taking apart / reassembling. Both B and D series bottom ends are quite similar and no hassle between the two
