    COST of EP3

Just read this and it p1sses me off

Depending on your European county of purchase, the Civic Type R will set you back between $20,000 and $22,000 U.S

We pay that price here 2nd hand and 6 years old

You could always move to your average European country and forego the Australian lifestyle. I don't mind the tax situation in this country because our standards of living are amongst the highest in the world. If that means paying more for cars, so be it.

yeah and the "cost" price for one 2nd hand from Japan is around $8-10k. So where does the the extra $10-15k come from ? Shipping / customs / importers etc. Half the price "we" pay for a EP3 is simply getting it here.

$8-10k? if i can get mine this cheap i'll be laughing.

ending auction prices are around 1.3-1.5m yen for pre facelift and as high as 1.8m for top facelifted. these are the going rates when i was looking for mine a few weeks ago. $8-10k is only the starting bid.

the $10-15k you mentioned are mainly duties and compliance (plus shipping). that's the cost we got put on by our lovely Government.

They pay US$20-22k for 2nd hand too. You can't buy a new EP3 now.

dont ship it! buy it.. convert it into a aquatic car (with some selleys all clear) and then drive its ass over here! or build a shitty boat and sneak it in like an illegal immigrant.

but seriously i want an ep3 too.. but i guess it'll take another year of saving
