well, aaronng, hard to tell exact extra KW from this "easiest+cheapest" mods.
but we can feel better throttle+response. can't expect get much from this under $200 mods and also sometimes we can't do mathematically for mods. ie. if put CAI alone (let's say) get 2 kw extra, combine with HKS iridium and pivot get 3kw extra, but doens't mean HKS+pivot alone will boost 1 kw.
my point is start from easiest+cheapest first, if not satisfy, add other mods.
small gain+small gain = better. better+small gain=good. good+small gain=nice, and .... let's say :
1. iridium+pivot -->small gain & <$200, not satisfy? just add
2. CAI --> <$300, still not satisfy? add
3.exhaust --> let's say $1000, not enough ? add :
4. unichip (fd1) or hondata (fd2) --> $1000, want more ?
5. Turbo.
but with turbo (usually >1bar), will much more complicated, don't think internal engine (pistons, etc) can hold turbo power unless we install low boost turbo (for daily use) about 0.4 - 0.7 bar.
i think HKS have this kind of turbo (Turbo HKS T25) for Jazz and swift (not sure for FD), only works about 0.4 - 0.7 bar without changing internal engine (assume JDM engine = AUDM Jazz).
yeah. just doin it for a hobby. im after N/A not turbo coz just like driving a N/A car. so u guys reckon the FD1 is not worth doing up?
well, hard to advise u, once again it depend on u. if u like it and confuse where to put ur left over money, just do it, hahaha..
but to be honest, i still "bow" to engine warranty
personally i think f*ck the engine its ok as it is. just get some coilovers, strut/sway/ etc etc bars, rims, good tyres and brakes, and ur set for a whole lot more fun than any "bolt on crap" can offer ya
2012 BMW S1000rr - 184whp, 9.733s @ 148.27mph - Quick enough!
2006 Honda Civic - 101whp, 61s BBGL Short - When I need a bbt.

Visual wise YES Performance wise NOPE.
1. You will most certainly void your warrenty & insurance
2. There isn't a really high performance mod for FD yet except turbo (which is only available in another country)
3. Small mods(If too much)= Decrease in value of your car.
In the long run civic is still new and a family car. If you are really power hungry then go for the big boys. example. WRX, EVO, SKYLINE etc.
Personally i wont be touching the civic anymore. i'm getting a Autech Silvia S15 soon from japan
