K&N drop in filter for FD2 - worth putting it in?

I'm just wondering, has anyone tried changing their stock air filter in their FD1 or 2 with a K&N one?
    Does it make a difference?
Looking to achieve better fuel economy.

Marginal (if any) improvement on fuel economy. It's likely all in the mind if it's material/significant.

K&N's purpose is to provide better flow over a longer period compared with a stock filter. You can read all about it on their website or read about it on tuning books like 'Performance with economy" by David Vizard.

There's some degradation of filter particle size capacity but I've not found or experienced any engine wear as a result.

Another thing is the intake sound is slightly louder allowing you to enjoy the VTEC sound if thats your thing

For FD2 they should be available locally at places like Repco.

Back when the cars first came out it was alot harder to find and you either had to order it in or import it yourself (as I did).

With K&N filters, given that their life expectancy is longer than most other paper, etc filters, and with the price difference relatively marginal, I'd say it would be a worthwhile investment if you're planning to keep your car for a while.

Fuel economy would be a bonus, though I daresay it may help if it breathes in cleaner air? Shop around, as prices may differ...good luck!
