Rear Strut Bar

Hi i did a search on ozhonda and found thread on removing the bolt for my rear strut bar. Allan key + spanner.

Its so hard to remove them. Any other idea? or i am just going to directly place the bar over it and buy some bolt. Will it affect the performance?

Also do i need to tighten the bar? Or is it ment to be swinging?

you will need to remove the plastic covers and then remove the 14mm bolt on top of the strut and then place the strut bar on it...

but when you tighten the bolt you have taken off you must place the allen key in the hole on top of the strut to make sure it doesn't move otherwise if you over tighten the bolt the thread will snap....

i have seen this happen once before...
not a pretty sign...

i remove the plastic cover~ BUT~ using the allan key + spanner. I cant remove the 14mm bolt~ so hard~

I got the allan key to hold while i turn the spanner anti-clockwise~

u will need a rachet and a 14mm socket to remove it...

u will only need the allen key when you tighten the bolt...

a spanner will not remove the bolt the first time...

the screw thats is sticking out is too long and my ratcher cant fit in. Arghh went to bunning to get some bolt to tighter it on top. Hehe problem slove.

lets hope ur thread does not snap...
cause that is the incorrect way of putting the strut bar...

the strut bar is meant to sit flat across the top part of the shock....

u could have invested for a few bucks to get a 14mm long socket to undo it...

ahh yeah should have thought of longer socket. Will head to bunning to solve the problem tml. Thanks Ray

hey i bought the long socket. however the screw still turn when i turn the long socket. Is it suppose to be like this? I cant get it out.

i am not too sure how you are doing it..
but my one has been fine in terms of using a 14mm socket to remove it....
