The Wilwood based BBKs are supposedly pretty good. One of the Sponsors on S2ki puts together a kit including rotors, brackets, and calipers but I also hear that Wilwood are introducing their own kit shortly.

But the fact is the stock brakes are pretty good. If you can drive hard for a while and then still induce ABS they are up to the task. I personally have experienced brake fade on the track but not with track pads.

And I use stock wheels for the track with R spec tyres so a true BBK is out of the question.

One option for me is a kit the US guys put together that uses stock rotors, Wilwood 4 piston calipers and custom brackets. I'll get around to it eventually.

If it was that they require more pedal you will get that with any BBK if you don't do a corresponding master cylinder upgrade. More pistons means more surface area means more fluid.

why the need for bigger brakes ? Stock brakes are designed to work much beyond your own driving capabilities and under head load ~ unless you are drastically altering the dynamics or the power of the car why bother ?

Still running the stock 1 piston front calipers Aus?

Find they are still sufficient after the turbo upgrade?

Interested to hear your opinion since I'm looking at a bigger set of calipers for the S after the S/c upgrade.

personally the spoon brakes felt very similar to the standard dc2r caliper. I dont like the look of the wilwood dynalite calipers. I have been checking out the dynapro series and model above that. I have heard with the partshelper kit you can still use the stock wheels without a spacer??

Yes this brakes purchase will be a combination of function/fashion. The car feels incomplete with some nice brakes, but thats just me.

    Raybena-
I had AP 6 pot racing kit at home. too much hassle to fit those brakes on as it required extended studs+spacers.

lude - the stock calipers are well up to the task even after FI. I'm not sure how I'm going to explain that to engineers when I get my certificate but the fact is the car doesn't go any faster, it just gets there a whole lot quicker.

apparently the spoon calipers feel same as stock on a s2k just the heat can with last longer but the guy at race brakes said if you want good braking go for brembo or ap racing or if you can afford it endless or project mu !!! lol

good pads (feredo DS2500), braided lines all round, good rotors, good fluid. Once you have done all this and feel that braking isn't sufficient then upgrade calipers. How about changing the MC/Booster to a 1'? There only a 15/16th MC so upgrading that first might help the pedal feel and pressure.
