    Question Rims for EK Civic

    Hey guys,

    I've been looking at getting some rims for a while now, and I did want to go 16", but they are kinda hard to come by. I have managed to find a 16" in the design that i want, but i'm not a huge fan of the silver colour that it comes in. My other option is a 17" in Machined Black (which i prefer colour wise) but i'm not sure if i want to go 17. Now my car has been lowered with cheap springs (which i will change later on) but they are adjustable...

    Here are some pics of my car (sorry about the size)...

    And here are the links to the rims that i'm looking at...

    16" -> http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...=&part_no=1481
    17" -> http://www.tempetyres.com.au/product...t=&part_no=819

    There is only a $100 difference between the two, but i'm thinking long run that tyres are going to be easier to get for the 17's over the 16's.

    So basically just want people's opinions on what they reckon would look better!! And if you know of any issues with going 17" rims on an EK...

    Thanks in advance!!

    the 16s look pretty dull and boring, much prefer the 17s

    i had 17s on my old ek and had no problems with scrubbing at all

    I also have 17" rims on my EK Sedan
    it only scrubs lightly under very heavy turning on full lock
    or theres a bump while turning at normal speed.

    Dude, have a look at these wheels. actually saw them when I was getting tyres for my eg. I think if you speak with Ali and tell him your from ozhonda, they will do u a good deal.

    ps. I don't work for them, I just like to recommend traders who do good deals for me!

    i have 17s in my ek hatch front scrubs lots.. only cos i wound the coilovers right down. ill grab some pics later today

    im assuming u have a cheap ebay style coilover? that is what i am currently running as a temp setup this is a pic without them the colour code and anew tint.

    and this pic it with coilovers in colour code, new tint and CTR grille :P

    17s fit just nice and for the amount of scrubbing i get it think they are worth it. take out the inner guards and i dont reckon u would have any issues..

    I do have the Cheap ebay style coilovers!! Biiiiig mistake. Should have saved the money and gotten something better.. Although they didn't cost THAT much i guess... Thanks for the pics btw. I can get a good feel of how they will look (size etc...). I'm a little worried about the ride though (cause its shit at the moment) which is why i'll prob change the coilovers pretty soon. Just hope the 17's won't make it feel worse.

    17's will always be a rougher ride then say 14 or 15's as the tyre has more travel in it then what it would on a 17. but having said that suspension is a big factor too

    the ride of the ebay coilovers is hidious!!! they are shit ride wise but amazing how much better they are grip wise. huge improvment from stock. i paid 75 bucks for mine posted! got them put in by a mate and they will be out within 6 months. for a budget lowing job they rock but they are rock solid which is shit! 17s look sweet man. gotta pay a price to look good! lol

    My real only other option is that i can get the 16" rims that i have put up in white! I don't think they would look too bad, but i've heard that white rims are a pain to look after and keep clean. Plus some white rims can look shit if they aren't a good quality...

    I think i just talked myself out of them!! lol

    16" tyres cost more than 17s u do realise thats something else u should look into. as at some stage u will have to replace them. 17s are more common so there is more choice meaning they cost less. 17s look better bigger rim more showing. lil rubber band like tyres looks excellent! White rims look excellent on black cars sure they will need cleaning more regularly but hey u have a black car they are hard enough to keep looking good! in the end it is your choice i think some nice white 17s or a simple set of 17s like u posted up there are good!
