    EK4 Brakes type

    Hi guys i have a 96 EK4 aus spec, i need to find out whether i have akebono or sumitomo calipers.

    or if my brake pads are either of these two from bendix
    DB 1262:

    or DB1286:

    i'm looking to change my rear and front pads just want to make sure that i'm getting the right ones. i know i could just pull them out but then i have no transport .

    1286 maaaaate

    1262 will fit but knock around coz its too small

    they are the same as DC2 pads, not Type R. i have these brakes as well, and it is exactly the same dimensions . i compared it from the catalogue. part number i get is, 1292

    can anyone else confirm part no 1286. for the EK4 96, or can anyone tell me where to find where sumitomo or akebono is found on the calipers

    DB1286 I'm pretty sure.

    I've got a set of ebc yellow coming from the uk of the same.

    to be 100% sure, take one of your pads out and trace its outline on a piece of paper and compare that with the db1286 pad pdf from the bendix au site.

    If you want bring your actual brakepad to the shop and they can match it no problem
