    help jdm folding mirrors

    hey

    im just curious is it possible to wire the mirrors so that it folds and unfolds when the alarm is armed. if so how? atm its connected to the side mirror switch. any suggestion would be helpful?

    ur mirror is power folding mirrors ?

    if yes , then u should go to do some research for it..

    coz last time I did search in OH forum , but couldn't get any info about the wiring....

    i install it recently. my car doesnt come with it. i have done alot of research. no one has a dyi on a civic. so its alot different from other cars when i install it.

    one way to do it could be to wire it up so that when the doors lock, the switch for the mirrors is activated and they fold in, however for this to work, your power source for the mirror switch will have to be something which isnt connected to acc/on etc. (probably need a direct power source from the battery itself)

    I think we do need a Relay for the folding mirror.

    but which relay..????

    see if you can get your hands on a copy of the service manual. it will have the wiring diagrams for the door locks in it.

    alternatively you could probably even hook it up to the alarm itself, but youd need to know which wires do what. if your alarm has the window windup feature then it shouldn't be too hard

    yes u do need a relay. i brought mine from ebay. search for honda folding mirror. there should be one from thailand where i got mine from. if not, check us ebay.

    is it a special relay that we cannot get from Dicksmith ?

    i dont think so. just search honda relay mirror on ebay you should find a few.
