    JDM B18C running rough

hey all, cars been running real rough since putting the jdm b18c into my eg, using heaps of fuel, blowing alot of black smoke running rich no doubt, had it scaned today an got the following codes :

    3 - MAP voltage low
    7 - TP voltage low
    8 - TDC sensor 1 no pulse
20 - electric load detector voltage high

also map voltagte on the scanner read 0.06v

    TPS was 0.04v at idle

and the fuel injectors were at 8.2 ms

oh and the spark advance was at -2.3 DEG

    any help ?? lol cheers

With low voltage reported on 2 sensors & no signal on another, all at the same time,I'd say u have bad connection issues in your wiring.

Since your cars been upgraded to OBD2 somewhere along the line, there has to be some extra connections &/or extra wiring added somewhere.U prob just have a bad conversion harness at the ECU end.Check all your plugs & connections,& also check for good clean continuity of the wires going to the bad sensors,it would be a big coincidence for all 3 sensors to go bad at once.

For the code 20 ELD,just ignore that,u prob dont have the ELD installed in your car & there is no connection at the ECU,thus registering as a high voltage. The fault will not make your check engine light come on,so just ignore.

BTW,the type of ECU will have no bearing on the faults you've reported.

P72 & P73 will read the MAP,TPS voltages & TDC signal in exactly the same fashion.

So u have a B18C i assume(judging by what uve put under your avatar now),in which case u have the right ECU.

If that is true, then u better change your avatar as well, thats a B18CR.

I thought that might be so.

So either u have a B18CR or u have a B18C that u changed the rocker cover to a red one, changed your oil filler plug for a shiny one & also changed your intake manifold to a B18CR one..........

    So which is it???????

Can u see whether u have P72 or PR3 stamped on the head of the engine?

Just cos its JDM doesnt mean its a Type R engine.

Check the front of the engine just above the number 4 header pipe & it will be stamped either P72 (=B18C) or PR3 (=B18CR).
