I would be asking more questions before spending $4k. Ie are they replacing the clutch/flywheel? Are they replacing fluids? Are they replacing the timing belt? For $4k I wouldnt expect a yes to any of those questions
See a good post? Give it a PQ point.

Well if it is then good price. BUT ill highly doubt it. When doing a b20 might as well change oil pump, water pump, piston rings, new bearings, hone, APR rod bolts and etc.

If your doing a "slapper" then 4k sounds about right.

Im sure there are many OH members that have done the B20 bottom end variations, what did it cost you? and what are the power gains? ..... be honest.

sorry to hijack but still kinda on topic...

is it recomended to re-sleeve the b20 to be reliable? was also looking to do this in my DC2 with b16b head and my mechanic has said that it should be re-sleeved ($3000) just to be sleeved as the closest place that will do that is in Syd (im in Melb)

    does anyone know???

4k is a good price if that comes with the engine but stick with the b16a only use b20 if your going for a build.. i might be building a b20 soon with a b18 head but doing a stroker kit to a 2.1l and compresion ratio 11:5 resleeving to a 1.8 cost in parts and labour 8k and that just the bottom end only the head has been done with skunk2 and s3 bc cams all them bs which cost 14kish

btw this aint my car its one of my customers car

As far as I've seen on the net, if its well tuned you shouldn't need to! Seen stock B20 blocks boosted at 20psi and last. Only if they are tuned properly. No detonation etc...

Thats alot of money to spend just on sleeves...
