    Mugen Vs Spoon Baffled Sump

Well I have been looking at purchasing one of these and have noticed on nengun a price difference of $50

    Spoon: $260

    Mugen: $310

Any reason why? Do they do the same job? Spoon seems to be the more popular choice.

I assume they both just minimise oil starvation in hard G cornering.

The Mugen comes fitted with a heart shield on the underside protecting it from header heat im unsure if the spoon one does but yes, fitted with a baffle plate to avoid oil starvation at the pick up point during hard cornering, if you track then its a good investment, but in saying that, alot of places sell baffle plates that u can tack to your existing oil pan doing the same job much cheaper.

If you ever go to JDMYard, they can actually do a custom baffle upgrade of your existing baffle sump for $30.

They both will do the job. Mugen is better.

    Why is mugen better?

    Because its $50 more?

You comment doesnt make sense if both do the job.

Only reason you'd put the Mugen 1st IMO, is the heat sheilding applied to it.

As Geeang said, JDM Yard, Toda Oz and probably others do a baffle plate, Moroso also do a few B series pans worth looking at.

Mugen also has vertical baffles. It is better.

....But both will do the job.

And yes I forgot, the Moroso is better and cheaper than Spoon and Mugen.

....But all three will do the job.

So much mis-information in this thread it's unbelieveable.

Mugen pan does not come with any heat shielding at all, neither does spoon.

    Spoon Pan

Mugen Pan and Spoon pan side by side. Spoon is the unpainted one.

Mugen Wins, spoon loses , blown motor owns all when rivets fail from ur riveted in baffle

What do you mean by this? Can you elaborate as to why?

What if you have a DC2 with a K24A block conversion. Can you still use a K20A baffled sump?

only if you've removed the mesh screen which protects your sump pick up

They all do the same job.

Morosso comes with a turbo drain and oil temp sensor fitting if you need them as well.
