lol @ VT3C's first post, sounds like you were certainly taking notes while listening to the predrive overview on the day.

melb dealers had their drive days this week, i was on our this afternoon.
our drive compared the both the gli, vti and vti-s jazz against the mazda2, suzuki swift and the toyota yaris.

in short the jazz is MILES above in pretty much all departments. it drove nicer, it looks much much better and it is way more practical than any of it's competitors.

    my impressions from the day

yaris - cheap and nasty. disgusting dash, was gutless but didn't drive THAT bad, couldn't wait to get out of the thing

mazda2 - very nice looking car, not as comfortable as the jazz, not as well finished.
wasnt a fan of the auto as it was either completely gutless or it was revving off it's ****

swift - good looking exterior, good but not as impressive as the jazz interior, it felt a little small and boxy inside.
it drove very nice even uphill the torque delivery was better than expected, the boot space is non existent

jazz - good performer all round, couldn't fault anything performance wise. it drives much nicer off the line compared to the old model with the cvt. under load it seemed a lil noiser than the old model but i am told it has actually tested much quieter than the cvt.
the interior is amazing compared to anything in it's class. it is also much more practical with 2 gloveboxes, 10 drink holders and even a secret compartment under the lhf seat!

and EKVTIR-T the wheel is symetrical bar 2 buttons

Panda what models were the other makes.. top of the range or base models?

ie. Swift Sport, Maz 2 Genki, Yaris YRX... which are the top ones for the other makes.

the swift was a sport and i think the other 2 were just the standard models, i know the yaris was only a yr.

oh and the vti-s we drove did have foggies, but it may just be an optional accesory as i havent read the info package i got
