    Tacho needs to warm up?

Ok a long story short, a few weeks ago i had a problem with the tacho not working (EG9 cluster) so replaced icm and it was still playing up. Ended up swapping the ECU backup fuse due to something else and tacho started working again. Noticed this morning that the tacho was playing up again on the way to the shops (reading really low but shoots up past 8000 rpm if i go to roughly 4000 rpm or above). As the car got warmer and warmer the tacho would move further and seem more accurate. By the time the car was completely warm the tacho seemed to be working fine. I always give the car 5 minutes or more to warm up before i go anywhere too. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

it sounds like the connection from the dizzy is cracked or loose. It has nothing to do with your car warming up

The entire dizzy was replaced about 4 months ago cos the TDC sensor shit itself and i've checked continuity on all the wiring and it's fine. It's just really odd how the needle gets more accurate as the car gets closer to running temp.

The problem is in the dizzy then. If you ran a continuity test from one end to the other it most likely is coming form the contact inside the dizzy

its relevant to the connection itself. It needs replacement or repair to make a proper connection from ignition and go so get it done!

I'll rewire the connections this week some time and see if it fixes it. The car runs perfect so i guess it does seem like a connection issue. Could the problem be related to the coil at all? Since the ICM is brand new it's the only other thing in there that i can think of if the wiring isn't the problem.
