in general no. go for sumitomo's or pref continental contact sports or the really expensive tyres such as Pzero, P7000 or the SO2 SO3's

I had Falken Ziex512's before (17s) and when new they were not bad in the dry but horrible in the wet - i felt there was little connection between the tyre and the road (aquaplaning a fair bit).

I looked into budgeted replacement and Nankangs NS-2 came in at $120 a tyre... and i must say for a cheap tyre im impressed. They grip well in the dry and i feel alot more confident in the wet as well. I did take them to a very wet track day a month ago and that wasn't bad either.

I am using Nankang NS-2 17" ... they are not that bad in both wet and dry .... at that price you are paying for

Nankangs are cheap tyres, there is better alternatives for the same price range.

if your budget is $150 i have the dunlop direzza at that price.
but if you spend more than $110(120 MAX) on nankangs your getting ripped off.

I got these tyres from Taleb a couple of months ago and they're fantastic. I came from Nankangs and the difference is like night and day. The dunlops have immensely more grip, are quieter and ride much better. I say go for it, great tyre and Taleb Tyres great to deal with.

I had a set of NS-2 in 18" and for what you pay they were great in the dry, i didn't find them noisy at all but in heavy rain doing over 100kms they were no good!!!!!!
