Something has happened to my automatic antenna on my car (LS Integra)
When the ignition is switched off, you can hear the noise the antenna does when it goes down, but nothing happens... it stays up.

I tried taking off the plastic casing from inside my boot to find the problem, but its not budging.

Wats the go? How do i go about fixing it myself?

Yeah, I already tried WD40 to no avail.
It sounds like there is something wrong with the gear. Any clues as to where this is located?! hehe

When i bought my DC2 the antenna didn't go all the way down. It was kinda bent and used to make heaps of noise. I ended up getting a brand new replacement nice and cheap...

Mine got a little jammed cos of frost, and wouldnt go down all the way. So i just put a switch in so the bloody thing doesnt go up

I did take it apart, but couldnt figure out what was wrong. Its not a very complicated mechanism to disassemble and put back together, so doing that you may see something

The problem most probably lies with the little toothed section that "reels up" the antenna. I'll see if i can find you the instructions to fix it, it isnt a big job and happens to almost everyone.

The plastic reel inside the mast is broken.
Better to buy an aftermarket antenna mast or replace the antenna.
The knocking noise is when the antenna mast is broken or jammed. It sounds like no noise so plastic reel broken.

Most probably broken reel teeth. Yeah this is a very common integra (if not honda) problem. I'm surprised ur only noticing the knocking noise now. It usually happens alot sooner.

Considering my car is just over 10 yrs old, Im pretty surprised that this is the first time I've had a problem with the antenna 8)

I still havent fixed the problem (lol). Hopefully 1 day soon.
