    The jap one will still there, i have 2 import car b4 1990 Nissan NX & 1993 Celica Convertible also have a original Jap plate there as well as import approval plate.

    what you have stated above is correct. that is the import date and the aussie issued vin

    if it's an import from japan i'm pretty sure the VIN wont start with JH... you will just see EG2XXXXXX whatever on the firewall. we have an imported EG at work atm, i'll take pics 2moro and post em up at lunch time for reference to give ya a hand
