Although it is cheaper to get the CTR box, rather than getting a stock B16a transmission and putting an aftermarket LSD in. But for almost the same price you could get an ITR box with LSD and a 4.75 Final Drive.

I already have a cusco lsd in my current b18cr box. But it died so comptemplating a CTR with a final drive of 4:9.

If your gonna put an aftermarket Final drive and LSD into the CTR box there is no point in getting it. The normal B16a Box has practically the same gear ratios and is alot cheaper. Id Buy the B16a Box and put the 4.9 Final drive and Cusco LSD in it.

that must be a CTR box with an aftermarket FD.
Why dont you simply replace the LSD of the box you have ?

I always thought the CTR box had a closer ratio then the standard B16A. If not what is the difference between the ITR and the CTR box's?

The lsd isnt the problem, the syncro's died and it works out cheaper for me to buy a CTR box with final drive then rebuild my ITR box minus the better final drive.

    ok , your wording convfused

BTW the B16a ratios are exactly the same as the B16b gearbox.
    1st: 3.230
    2nd: 2.105
    3rd: 1.458
    4th: 1.107
    5th: 0.848
    Reverse: 3.000
    Final Drive: 4.400
Only diffference is stronger(dual synchro) 2/3/4 gears and LSD.
Your ITR box has slightly different ratios -
    1st: 3.230
    2nd: 2.105
    3rd: 1.458
    4th: 1.034
    5th: 0.787
    Reverse: 3.000
    Final Drive: 4.785

If its cheaper , then get the CTR box you described.

OK, on the chance money isnt a problem, would it be better to rebuild the ITR box and buy the FD or the CTR with FD still running the cusco lsd.

if u look at the graph - only 4th and 5th are different.
Its the FD that will make the most difference "overall".
IMO rebuild the box as the 4.785 feels alot nicer than the 4.4 ( IMO)
You might be lucky and only need to replace say 1/2 synchros ( only needs one shaft taken out)
