I know it's not a B18C, but you may want to look at this page on the PreludeAustralia forums... I did a little poll regarding oil consumption on the H22A... interesting results (although not enough, dammit!)

As a sidenote, I know someone with a DC2R, and when he goes on cruises/big thrashes - he takes a bottle of oil with him to top it up... it uses that much... Do a compression test, both dry and wet (leakdown) - this will tell you if it's the rings or not. Valve stem seals could be a possibility if you are frequently (and I mean *frequently*) in the high end of the rev range - however with this, you would most likely notice blue smoke on cold startup (after sitting overnight).

How many k's on the engine ?
    Probably the PCV needs replacing.

Or try a slightly thicker oil.

i'm gonna have to get a comp test done to see if it is the rings, maybe im just too paranoid and its drinking the normal amount...
maybe its not the valve stem seals as the car (touch wood) never has blown any smoke on cold start over night or even when i bought it an drove it only on weekends
the only reason i thought it may be valve stems seals is because it was rearly driven bu previous owner and valve stem seals tend to dry up over time and then blow smoke and drink, but like you said it dont blow no smoke, i will do comp test and then go from there....
the motor only has 129XXX kms on it all original with history
sorry to sound dumb but what is PCV?????

mine is B18C but it only runs 330KM per tank, is that normal? seems it has no problem doing 400KM in the past, engine age 80k

does it mean something needs to be repaired?

dosent sound good - try a FULL service and see if that freshens it up abit. then look at things that need replacing.

But make your OWN thread. This is about oil consumption...

b18c's drink a lot of oil normall don't they? especially when going hard.

on track , u gotta bring an extra bottle to top it up. pretty sure this is normal for every b18c?

Honda FEO is not racing oil. The Aus-spec FEO is 10w-30.

how do u check your oil?

I made a mistake in checking my oil str8 after i switched the engine off....on street driving it was fine and was always full. But once i give it heaps it would again loose oil...

I learnt to check my oil about 5 min after i stopped the engine..
