I'd suggest advan sport v103, instead I'm using them now and they're great: higher grip level, quieter, less tramlining and a more subtle appearance.
any chance you know where your GSD3 are made from?
i had a set of German gsd3 before, used it pass 35000km, and it is still gripping quite well. now on Falken FK452, would say they are as good as the GSD3, at only 2/3 the price.

And yes you can still use the space saver but the car will probably not track straight due to the difference.
Cheers mate. I'll start researching!

Will it still be ok for me to use the 16" space saver spare? The overall diameter will increase 0.54cm according to my calculations - From 205/55/16R to 225/45/17R.
Put the space saver on the rear (like you are supposed to) and it'll be ok at a speed limit of at up 70km/h I think. Too bad with RWD vehicles, you need a full sized spare.

hi, sorry to hijack the thread, but need some opinion.
I just got a quote from melbourne as follow:
Yoko V550 265 each
Conti Sport Contact 2 255 each
Sport Maxx 245 each
Adrenalin 225 each
205/55/16 balance and fitted, any idea this sound reasonable? Also the tyre place claim Yoko and Conti is best for euro and it just appears they are the most expenive too out of the list, anything to back up this claim?
Thanks.

The Yoko you listed is the low road noise version. I'd rather Conti Sport Contact 2 instead. So it's either the Contis or the Adrenalin. Both different tyres for different uses. Get Contis for normal driving, and Adrenalin if you are the kind that goes through your tyres quickly. BTW, you can do better than $225 for Adrenalins in that size. If you go to any bridgestone tyre centre, they are selling Adrenalins in 205/55 R16 for $199 now during their Stack Stock Sale. http://www.btc.net.au/StockStack2007/metro.asp

What do you guys think of Kumho? specifically the Kumho Ku31?
http://www.kumho.com.au/product_high...ce_premium.htm
I'm thinking of getting these next time round. I got quoted 225/40/18 for $150 each (mates rates). I think they're bout 200 at bob jane.
I ended up getting Kumho Ecsta Seven ku23's for $130 because they didn't have ku31's in stock.

To me, my personal preference is Yoko > Dunlop. But if you can get Adrenalins for cheaper than the Sport Maxx, and both of them are aimed towards the modded compact car segment, I'd wait for someone else here to get Adrenalins first and review them
But I like Contis enough to choose them over the more expensive V550. Tony1234 has more experience as he has the Contis, so listen to him.

I'm inclined to go for the C-drives at the moment - do people know what a 'good' price for a set of 4, including install/balance/etc... is?
17" stock rims.
