    Figures from the Honda.com.au site

    VTi = 1050kg
    GLi = 1013kg
    Breeze = 1000kg

    Si = Somewhere in between

    Essentially the reason why personally I would go for a Si or GLi over the VTi is the fact that those two models dont have a sunroof - Saving a fair amount of weight. Im not too keen on them and id be doing an engine conversion eventually so the power is not too much of a concern

    I believe the Si, like the VTi, has rear brakes. The Si also has power options just without the sunroof, as the Si was the top of the range model before the Vti.

    For me, If i was to find a good condition Si with less then 130K km's for less the 6500, id get it.

    Si is the best of both worlds i think . Power(DOHC - yes i realise its the same output as the vti - and no sunroof (saves weight)

    $6500??

    I got a Vti, 63,000k log books. >2 yrs ago $5,700

    Kazaam got a IMMACULATE Vti <100,000ks $6000

    These cars are old now, dont pay too much for them

    Just cos they advertise high, dont be discouraged to bargain down.

    Also, pay more for someone whos already done the conversion.

    8k for B16 civic

    OR

    6.5k For civic + 3k For b16 = 9.5k

    Ends up cheaper, buying somone elses money pit (i stole that from someone, but i forget who)

    the market & timing plays a big role in price, ie: the price of wat everyone esle is selling at the same time.

    i find it in general.. car's a cheaper in Sdy? hit up carsales and look at the price in Vic. EG dont come close to the price that aimre has mentioned.

    eg hatchs are overpriced. iv searched everywhere and alot of ridiculous prices. near the prices of ek's. the eg civic si seems pretty difficult to find in good condition at a reasonable price as well.

    yeh the 121000km one, i would def buy it if it was manual. its been on carsales forawhile. theres an si on tradingpost with sunroof. but i would rather get a vti if i were to get sunroof. rather stay away from the extra weight though.

    I agree simon - Ive been looking for a Civic for about 2 months now - everybody expects 6K for a Breeze :/

    But there are some good examples at times. My mate got a VTi for 5K with 150000km's on it, a couple months back

    5k for a vti 150k is a good deal. 6k for a carby breeze thats BS. too overpriced. they must be really patient and love spending money on advertising.

    i'm looking at a civic vti eg, which was imported from jap. and it has drums. it was just said earlier in the thread that it comes out with discs. can someone explain that to me?

  11. #23
    its not a vti. Simple. Its maybe a vti engine but its a carbied EG body. Avoid it

  12. #24
    wots the downside with the carbied body as opposed to the VTi body? sorry if this is a stupid question
