    S2000 front lip question

As I continue in my quest for a 2nd hand S2000 that suits my requirements (budget, colour etc.), I just gotta ask this: why's it so damn hard to find one that comes with the OEM front lip?

And when I do find one that kinda meets my requirements, the front lip is cracked etc!!

Anyway, should I get a lip-less S2000, what are my options when it comes to adding a front lip?

I've done a search and found that a brand spanking new one from Honda would set me back roughly $700 and that's too steep imo.

Would it be hard to find S2000 front lips from wreckers? I wouldn't rule out replicas either. Opinions?

I could of course go aftermarket but I don't want to go down that route.

    Any advice appreciated

I am sure most s2000 owners realised that too!

Any feedback on Car Mate's "OEM Style" Front Lip?

Does anyone know if it's made from fibreglass or polyurethane?

Id be more worried about the condition of the car more than anything. Front lips can be sourced and bought later. U can pick up a ployurethane lip for about $250 and spray it. Ive got a OEM style polyurethane lip, no fitment issues and still good after 2 yrs.

On another note, if uve got plans for your S2k once aquired, u'll soon learn modification is not cheap. Find a decent example and take it from there.

    Sound advice there WhiteAP1.

The S2000 that I have set my sights on and due to put down a deposit on tomorrow is lip-less so I am kind of planning ahead for myself at this stage.

I have heard quite a bit about the polyurethane lip and was wondering what the quality is like compared to the FRP OEM front lip, for instance, quality, fitment and how near identical they are to the OEM one in terms of styling.

Do they vary in terms of where I but the polyurethane lip from? If so, are there any good places you would recommend that I look before any other?

I don't intend on modding the S2000 once I get it. All I am looking to add is a front lip.

Msg Ludecrs his got a oem style polyurethane lip for sale. All the guys are correct when buying the car the lip should be last priority as they arent hard to get a hold of. Dont be shocked at the prices of s2000 parts. The lips are cheap compared to the cost of the side strakes. Side srakes are the same price and they are so small!!

lol SIR take our advice.. why are u worried about the lip? i think theres much ore important issues with every s2000 out there than the lip? would u rather spend another $250?? or another couple of thousands on diff and box that the previous owner mashed up before he sold the car lol?? but it all up to u... good luck..
    ..VTEC YO!..

    pure N/A all the way

Ludecrs is in Perth whereas I'm thinking of buying in Sydney. Much less hassle that way.

Condition of the car is great. Very happy with it! It'll be perfect if I can find a good front lip to go on it!

    Hey SiR,

Have you looked into order an OEM front lip from jdmshit.com?
They are located in the states, and with the strong Aussie dollar atm, you could bring in the front lip at a very good price.
Quite a few guys on here have ordered from them
