Last of all, even with engineering cert. it's still not legal huh. Approx. how much extra does it cost to get the certificate in melb?
the 'power to weight' rule goes by the flywheel power, not front wheel kws.

in melb, its kinda tricky. fisrt you need to get your car epa tested, then engineered, then registered.EPA test was ~$700, engineers were like ~$100 to just talk to them and ask what needs to be done/checked and ~$500 for the cert.

As for power to weight I'll doubt you'll get 160 atw with an unopened d series engine running under 10 pound.
    I will

Depending on the engineer, Though i talked to one, and if u got papers that ur kit complies with emisions (greddy kit does in california, thus does so here) he'll comply the emissions parts.

And EPA tests r free. Been there, done that

P.S on a stock engine if you run about 6-7 PSI of boost then you should only be getting at most 115kw atw at most on a D series. I've seen one with GT28R making that sort of power. Now the conversion backwards using a 25% loss (which is a very low loss) your only making 157kw at fly.

What's wrong with 157kw at fly?

    That's more than a B18C7

    Plus your math is off

    115 + 25% of 115 = 143.75

Not the right way to calculate backwards. You're supposed to do:
    ??? x 75/100 = 115
    Therefore, ??? = 115*100/75 = 153.3

Well I'd love it if that's the case

Means once my kits installed I'll have more power than a B18C7 for only $3000 installed
