    Actually that's not entirely correct. If it's a Torsen LSD, if you spin one wheel while they are both off the ground, the other will not spin at all. If you put it in neutral, spin one wheel, and while doing it get someone else to try to spin the other wheel the other way I think it would engage the LSD. If it wont let you spin the other wheel, then it has a Torsen LSD (which is what the Type R has).

    anyone got more opinions abt my gear box...LSD or non-LSD....S80 can be a LSD gear box or may be a optional LSD gear box???

    just rev it to 5grand and drop the clutch till it stops spining, and to make sure you leave marks just use the handbrake........fully up...
    then check the marks on the ground, if notsatisfied, try again untill you are

    as far as i know its quite hard to tell without pulling the shorter of the two driveshafts out and looking into the box, if you can see a pin going directly through the middle then its not lsd, if you can see straight through the other side it is an lsd box.

    wrong...... can' ttell if its jacked up....

    best is to do a burnout....

    I think everyone wants to see a burnout lol. Typically jacking up the car and turning the wheels should be enough though.

    But, yes...if in doubt, burn those suckers up. That should tell you...would be nice too
