change of full exhaust leads to ecu tune?

hi i was wondering if i get a cat back system and headers for my dc5r is it necessary to get the ecu tuned i read somewhere that it can damage the engine or something if you dont?

    cheers

The factory ecu should be able to handle full zorst change. What they normally do after the installation is to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to reset the ecu.

But if u also install aftermarket ecu (kpro), u'll see a bigger gain.

yeah all ECUs in Honda will be able to adjust slightly to a full exhaust & other bolt-on mods.
This doesn't mean that you won't get more power if you get it tuned though.

to say you should get your ecu for better acurate reading tuned as your fuel/air ratio will change due to the extractors and exhaust.
This could lead you to power loss and your response in the long term if not tuned properly.

Well for AUDM DC5R i believe you will notice a small gain , simply because the stock exhaust is very restricting.

As for damage to your engine, no nothing like that will happen, but you may lose a bit of fuel economy.

An aftermarket ecu+tune will give you gains and improvement over the standard
