5th Gen Prelude - Auction Value

    Hey guys..
I might be picking up a 5th gen prelude from the auctions tomorrow.. the frame and exterior seem to be ok.. though there is a notification that the car has some clutch problems.. I couldn't get inside the car to notice anything else though which is the sh*t thing.. but how much would I be looking at to replace a clutch on a 5th gen.. stock or aftermarket.. and how much do you guys rekon the car is actually worth from an auction.. no more that 8k perhaps??

    cheers

I'm not really sure how much it'll be at an auction but i can tell you that to replace the clutch... it's gonna be very expensive. you'll want to get a heavy duty clutch kit and maybe a lightened flywheel while you're at it because it's quite a dirty job lolz.
they have to take the whole engine out to replace the clutch which is a B*TCH because that's where all the money is goin to... the labouring process hahaha.
    goodluck!

to put a new clutch in (extreme clutch, the sexy pink ones haha) i got quoted around $750 so expect something like that or even higher! careful with buying cars at auctions, shit go is you cant take it for test drive, fair enough you may get teh car cheap but its cheap for a reason!

    goodluck!

she paid 13.7k with the damaged clutch, so shes gonna need to fork out another 2k to repair it and then at least another 1k to get it on the road with road worthy and rego..

lol!! this is so true..a friend of mine, his wife wanted a prelude 4th gen from auctions, the guy paid way too much for it, simply cause the wife wanted it and it was red...!!

It had low milage so i guess that was the only upside.. 70,000 k's approx.. but still broken clutch from only 70,000k's.. someones been thrashing it -_-..
the car was silver with pin strips.. had after market lips front and rear and it looked like it had after market side skirts..
    --edit--
