I have a multi-stage shift light - it has six really bright LEDs, 4 are read, 1 is yellow, and the final one is green. They light up sequentially as you hit the desired RPMs.

I don't drag so it's useless to me until I get another car

How much is it for one of these shift light thingies? Is it a hassle to get it installed? Provided the price is within my budget, I'd love to have one installed on my car.

    Thanks!

    Yep!

It measures the electrical charge in the tacho wire and lights up accordingly.

I just bought one fo those Gizzo dual stage shifft lights from autobahn.
Haven't hooked it up yet but should be on soon.

I've got a autometer monster tacho w/ shift light if anyone wants it. Looking for $220 firm.

I guess that's a reasonable price. Whether or not I'd be willing to part with $150-200 for some shift lights is another matter.

Btw, how hard is it to wire it up? Is it a DIY job or something for the mechanic?

yeah DIY job for sure! JayCar has a cheap kit for like.. $30 i think i bought mine for. You get 3 lights and you solder the thingy up. You can adjust all 3 lights to wherever you want them to go off at.. pretty simple. Stuff paying over $100... thats just ridiculous i reckon!

    Here's a photo
