I say slam it and camber the fck outta it haha, hotness

Thanks guys...i think this weekend I might visit the tyre guys and see what i can do. See if they can trial fit 205/45's on the front and see if it sits ok.

Damn. Bought my tyres with wrong profile, now have to buy the correct ones (if thats the issue!) - wasted my money! Lesson to all i guess....always do your research...

will post when i find out..

    Q: lol @ camber pic!

It's alright... sure you can sell the tyres on Ebay, with out toooo much of a loss.

Will you be able to tuck tyre with a bit of camber?

    Hmmm strange,
a friend of mine used to have stock dc5 rims in his dc2.

    tyre profile 205/55/16 offset +45
they sat ok inside the guard, I'm sure even with 3mm spacer, which would make it close to +42 it wouldn't stick out that much

Doesn't matter if it fits or not.

50 profile is wrong on the DC2R. The speedo will be out. There are a few tyre calculators out there:

205/45 or 215/45 in 16" are the closest you can get to stock size. you also gotta remember the law about changing profiles, +15mm, -25mm from the tyres fitted as std

i run 215/45R16 on my 16x7 +38 and no probs at all

    heres a pic

    bit of an update..

took the car down to the tyre/wheel guys...he said changing from 50 profile to 45 will not change the way it sticks out.

he also checked his fat book of rim fitting-guide and checked for a 2000 ITR, offset for 16 should be +45.....my rims being +42 may explain the slight stick out.

so then how is it then some of you guys that have posted have more negative offset and not have a problem???

    mmmmmmmm.............thats wierd.........yeh for 16's +45 would be the limit i think on 7inch wide......

but like i mentioned, i got 16*7 with +40mm offset and fits perfect.......i have already posted pic for proof..........is there by anychance a slip on 5-8mm spacer on the hub??????or have the hubs been changed???????

    only suggesting

The lower the offset, the further it sits in.

Your +42 should stick out less than a +45.

Isn't the stock offset +42 anyway?

    I have +45. But I'm running 15x7 - 205/50/15. I would've gone 205/45/16 if I had 16 inch rims to retain similar rolling diameter.

I am also running Falken RT615's.

I have had 16x7 +40 wheels, 205/45 tyres the same as IEVAQ8, no problems. A lot of people use this size wheel and tyre, its not an uncommon thing at all. Thats the maximum offset I would go with 16x7 +40. Currently I have 16x7 +50 and of course that fits 10mm further in.

If what you say is correct about your wheel specs, then there is only one other thing, your big tyres. Being a 205/50 they are higher and will buldge out a little more. That I think is where your problem is.
