    DC5R second gear crunch disappear

My DC5R has had the common second gear crunch ever since i brought the car 3 years ago. Recently i decided to teach myself how to double clutch (releasing and depressing the clutch when in neutral during a gear change) the crunch is now much less noticeable and if done correctly, disappears all together.

Hope this helps anyone who has a similar gear crunch problem.

Down changing requires some heel-toe action, which iam yet to master.

Yep... you should get an award for it.

Never really thought of it before... but you only really double clutch when your driving the car hard (Changing at high revs), and never really get the crunch. When your driving around like a granny, double clutching isn't needed, and you get the crunch.

    Well done sir.

    yay for double clutching!

im assuming the matching of flywheel and gearbox speeds makes the crunch vanish..

is this dc5 crunch thing only happen on downshifts?

Well done mate. If I had an award for post of a lifetime, you sure would be holding it in your very own clever hands. You are such a clever cookie! I can't stress how proud I am of you.
Your mother raised you well. Must be eating alot of Warnuts!

    WOW soo smart.. i'm amazed.

Start a new thread when you learn how to heel toe. Perhaps an D.I.Y thread would be in order for that. If you want to learn, a very able member of Ozhonda.. I think his name is Chi, would be able to teach you.
