Yeah.. unfortunately I see that and even the OEM 11" as overkill for what I am trying to achieve.

This is a very good article that covers most of the options:

    http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1811368

    Also check out this website:

    http://www.ef-honda.com/ben/

    In particular he says:

"The EX knuckles are regarded as the best knuckle upgrade for any EF civic. This is because they don't have any geometry differences and because they were "made" for a civic. The only problem with them is that they are a tad hard to find and become expensive if you want to get them from a junkyard with the brakes attached.

The DA knuckles (also with 10.3" brakes) on the other hand are plentiful, cheap and work great as well. They are, however, a bit heavier weighing in at 6lbs 7oz more per side than a full DX knuckle. Also, because they weren't made for any civic the geometry differences have been blown way out of proportion by message board folks and because of this, a lot of people are scared of the swap. The knuckles are ¼" taller than the civic knuckles but really, it is nothing. It raises the roll center ever so slightly and makes the camber curve a tiny bit more aggressive. So what? Who said the geometry was perfect to begin with? And caster is NOT affected by knuckles. It is determined by the ball joint locations on the control arms. So stop saying the knuckles themselves change/screw up caster! They don't and never will.

You can put the DA calipers and rotors on EX knuckles without any issues.

I have the DA knuckles myself and have to say that I have not felt nor seen ANY adverse effects, even after a full season of autox with them. I even switched back to DX knuckles for a while and noted absolutely NO gain, only a loss in braking power."

I have to agree in that you can easily find TEG setups at the yards but the EX doesn't exist as an Oz delivery (or does it?).

There is no need to go to big dollar $$$ brake upgrades. The whole point of all this Honda interchangeability is that you can build massive and very effective brake setups, even for circuit racing, from stock Honda parts. I can tell you I've outlaid less than half of what it costs to buy one of these kits for the front only, and I've replaced front and back setups with all associated bits inc. master cylinder, brake booster and prop valve, brake lines, discs, calipers, etc.

Shame I can't post any of it up in a build thread though. But here's a couple of teasers:

Back is finished, now working on the front

    TEG suspension setup

    Some front panel work completed

New 2.25 mandrel exhaust being built

From my research... there was no USA EX equivalent sedan here in OZ. I could be wrong though as I was basing my research on chassis codes.
    EX = ED4 (1.6L)
    OZ GL sedan = ED3 (1.5L)

Not sure if the difference in capacity was their reason for throwing the bigger brakes on the EX.....

^ Slight edit and totally agree.

Top work though.... hopefully you can get a few more pts from other members so you can contribute to the DIY section.

    Rep for assistance

I'd love to post up my build thread and even though I've been on here since 2004 no-one has seen fit to give me a rep point or two for my posts. A couple of points would allow me to get my thread going, with lots of information and links that I've picked up along the way.

I've got my old D15 engine out last weekend and will be progressing to a body refurbish (paint) and interior cleanup (picked up some neat as new ED front seats last weekend), and engine tranplant to D16Y1 VTEC SOHC.

Also looking for a few parts.

So come on guys, help me out here?

    Peter
