a good idea would be to check the ecu to see what fault code it has, that will help identify the wire that came out, then you put it back where it belongs.

thanks mate, but how do i check this?
the car is an EG VTi, the motor is a b18c SiR and the ECU says the ECU that came with the conversion was P72, but now its running a P06 chipped for NepTune. but the wiring wasnt changed at all so im assuming its still P72 wiring.
Im after the wiring going into the ECU guys, sorry for any confusion.
I surfed ALL after noon yesterday trying to figure it out but to no avail.
I followed the 2 wires back thru the firewall and they are connected to a Red/Blue wire, and a Yellow/Green wire both with grey spots. its the Yellow/Green wire that i need...

Well, the schematic i posted wont be suited to your needs.

    But if you get a B18CR manual (i.e. DC2 Type R) from hondatech.com.au
They are free to d/l, you just gotta sign up.

From there.. Goto the "Fuel" section.

From there look at the first few pages of this section. It will no doubt have an illustration of where all the sensors including knock sensor are.

Goto the knock sensor pages. Look at the wiring schematics within these few pages. It will show you where the Knock sensor wire goes/what colour it is.

Once you have studied this part and know the wire colour etc etc..

Look through more of the fuel section for all the ECU plug pinouts (the same as i posted on the previous page except for the B18CR). If these plug pinouts are not in the fuel section, they may be in the wiring section.

Once you find this and what color wires goto which pin, you should find that the knock sensor one is missing.

I'd look for you but i dont have an ITR manual and i dont wanna d/l one right now lol.

if you bridge your SCS connector does your MIL blink a fault code.

    you should have a SCS

    Yeah, whatever your engines from..
I'm not sure on any wiring differences between ITR/VTiR. Never looked.

Download the best suited one and you will be able to work it out.

BTW. The plugs/pinouts page on the EG manual is the very last page.. just hit "End" on the keyboard. You would need to look through the wiring section to find out where each plug is located on the harness' though. But, this is useless for what your looking for.

You need the B18C wiring schematics.

Definately worth doing what ECU-MAN has mentioned. It will confirm what your issue is. You never know, maybe that wire isnt off your knock sensor... And if it has been re-wired by a mechanic, how do you know he used the same wire color etc... You may end up chasing your tail. Pretty sure ECU-MAN wrote up a DIY in the DIY section on how to check your ECU for faults.. I'm not sure.

thanks heaps guys... yeahh the mechaniic did re wire these 2 wires, the reason i know what they are is because i followed it from the ECU back thru the firewall into the engine bay, and thats where i can see that theres one connected to the red/blue wire and one connected to the yellow/green, the one im stuck on is the yellow/green one... but i think maybe ill just take it back to the mechanic to see if he can fix it...
Im just scared of what might happen if i plug it into the wrong place.
im not sure if vtec is working or not as with boost i cant overly feel it/hear it anyway because vtec kicks in at 4k and thats when it starts hitting full boost so i duno if its the boost of vtec pulling harder...

your wiring should be obd1 wiring whether it be p28, p06, p72.

my guess is the extra wires would be either :

    1. knock sensor (which would retard timing)

    2. vtec pressure switch

as said before do a ecu cel check to find out what code you have then
we can tell you what pin to put it in.
