CU2 ipod interface

1.is it possible to fix this as an afterthought? (didnt think i would need it when i got the car)
2. will it work with an iphone?

1. yes your dealer can install it afterwards
2. dont know, the honda ipod interface is different in that u have to make 'honda' named playlists for the headunit to recogonise. logically it should work

If I'm not mistaken the CU2 uses the same kit as the one on the CL9 which I have. If that's the case yes, plenty of after market.

Search the forum. There's Xcarlink, Dension ICE Link, other brands like ICE, Blitzsafe, PIE, USASpec, PAC Audio and so on. That should get you started with the aftermarket brands. Way cheaper than the genuine Honda, but I myself have a Honda one. Works great.

Some have extra features than the Honda one, they vary, eg: some can also do Aux in + iPod adapter.

I have the ipod interface. Bargain to have it included when I bought the car. I love it. You have to create playlist using the names Honda1 to Honda7. No limit to the number of songs you put in each playlist. The audio controls it just like your CD stacker. You move between your playlists just like you move between your CDs. I don't have a problem with that. It's the most often use source when I listen to music whilst driving. The playlist Honda8 is automatically created for you comprising of all the songs in your Ipod played in a random order. Yes it does work with the Iphone and charges your Ipod too.

You can use as many playlists as you like with the genuine Honda Ipod adapter, you just have to use it differently. Honda1 to Honda7 let you use it like a CD changer. 8 is random. If you have non Honda__ playlists you just start the playlist then connect it to the adapter while the Ipod is already playing. It will then show as CDC Disc9 Track whatever. You can still change tracks this way but you cant go to other non Honda__ play lists with the Ipod plugged in. This is on a CL9.

Its expensive but pretty good. I installed it myself and its quite bulky compared to some of the aftermarket ones, room under the dash is at a premium. I just wish it would work with other MP3 players.

You now I don't understand the attraction unless you want to carry thousands of songs.

I have 500 plus MP3's burnt on to 4 CD's. The tracks are in folders (8 per CD) and I use the disc and folder buttons to navigate. The stereo tells me the CD, the folder and the name of the track. Cost nothing.

Well lucky for you CU2'rs stock headunit does MP3 already. CL9 stockies dont do mp3 and I had an iPod, and dont need to keep burning CDs.. that's why I got mine.
