5th gen Si vs VTiR

Ok im looking at buying a 5th gen, but im after a manual. i was originally after a VTiR, but since they are so hard to find in a manual i've been looking at Si's cos theres alot more manual ones going around.
im just after some feedback from someone thats driven both... is there much of a difference in power? im not gonna be redlining all the time...prob wont even get upto 5000rpm. but im really tossing up between the 2
whats more fun to drive?? A manual Si or auto VTiR?????

In terms of fun, definitely the vtir...

Si being the base model may be a little more "basic" or plain, but would be cheaper insurance.

BUT, once you've experienced the fun that goes with vtec, you may prefer the vtir. also comes with auto climate control and sunroof, carbon fibre interior bits, although that can easily be amended by diy.

i'd suggest take different ones for a test drive, as each to their own

Manual VTiR would be the way to go. If you can find a dirt cheap auto VTiR with a broken gearbox, you can do a manual conversion.

The H22a engine in the VTi-R is a beautiful free revving one... Smiles all the time... Decent'ish torque as well...

If going for the VTi-R definitely manual as the auto seems to have allot of the problems with it being fragile...

how are the digital climate control and the sunroof "easily amended by diy"?
it isnt easy to hook up all the sensors for the climate control and is cutting a hole in the roof really a diy?
