Tomorrow I am going to look at a late 96 model Integra VTiR. I can get it for $14,500. I have been looking around the forum and have read mixed opinions about the b18c. Would I be better off with a civic?? The car has done 160000 kms 17inch wheels, CD player and sunroof.

What do you fellas think? :?

$14500 for a car with 160000kms.....that is way 2 much
Just wait a bit and you should be able to get a better deal

Yeah you might be right, but I've been looking around and this car is by far the cheapest Integra I've found being a late 96 model.

first and foremost, if u r keen on it, call sydney vehicle check, or state roads vehicle check! make sure theres nothign wrong with the car.... cost about 135 for a stateroads check, and its a good job, they tell you everything!
    when do we hit vtec?

i'd put more faith in how the car actually runs and drives than the mileage.

a well maintained car with 150k km is better than a car with a poorly maintained car with 75k km.

    spot on.

i'd be asking for all log books...... but then there's the problem if the seller doesnt thrash it in vtec when its cold etc etc just general driving style you wont really tell. you can only tell if he's had it serviced often and what oils he's used...........

i'd be looking at something with less K's but see how you go with that one too.

Wow, thanks a lot for the input guys. I'll let you know how I go. Do you really think I could pick up a teg with similar specs and less kms for the same price? Where's a good place to look? Auctions?

There are lots of Integra's around for sale in Melbourne.

What's your limit in terms of budget?

i think $14,500 for 160k car is too expensive. A well serviced 160k car is better than a low k car that has not been serviced often is true. But you also have to remember that if later on you intend on selling the car other buyers wont have the same opinion as yours. They will look at the k's and say Nar thats too high, skip this one. Get what i mean? I personaly think that if you can find one with lower k's but slightly more expensive i'd go for that one.

Also, consider the condition of the car if it has been driven for 160k kms, eg. Interior Wear.

Would I be better off with a Civic VTiR?? Also, what year did the front end/headlights change on the Integra? 96?

yes, check to see if the meter is wounded back, you can tell if the meter says for example 50k and the flooring carpet on the driver side is totally worn out. You can do the maths. My integ has done 68k now and its in excellent condition, if you love your car you have to keep it in A1.
